Correct misalignment concerns related to:

  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Gapped teeth
  • Crowding
If your teeth are wearing prematurely or their misalignment is contributing to gum disease, then orthodontic therapy can be part of a comprehensive plan to treat such conditions.

Do you have a misaligned bite?

Malocclusion means having a misaligned bite. When you have malocclusion, your upper and lower teeth don’t fit together properly when you close your mouth.tired of hiding your smile (1)

Leaving your misaligned bite untreated might cause you more health concerns than you might realise. Several health concerns can arise over time and with age, like tooth decay and gum disease.  It can also impact the way you speak and chew. The effects of a misaligned bite might even impact your mental health. Studies show that people with a misaligned bite may avoid social situations or relationships because they feel self-conscious about their appearance.

How to treat a misaligned bite?

Depending on the severity of the case, the most common way to treat a misaligned bite is through braces or aligners.

Braces gently bring your teeth into alignment.
Clear braces gradually move your teeth into their correct positions.

What are clear aligners?

Clear Aligners are an Australian made aligners system, designed to discreetly correct your bite. Each aligner is typically worn for 2-3 weeks to gently move teeth, offering a comfortable alternative to conventional braces.

WHO CAN USE ALIGNERS?

  • Many orthodontic problems can be treated with aligners, but since every case is unique, only your aligners dentist can diagnose your suitability.
  • Aligner therapy works very well in those patients it is suited for.

How Does Aligners Work?

Using advanced digital technology, the Aligner system maps out your treatment through a series of pre-programmed alignment trays. By changing the aligners out every two weeks, your teeth are gradually guided into an optimal position without the use of fixed metal appliances.

  • Aligners use a series of custom-made transparent plastic trays – often called aligners, positioners or correctors – to gently move your teeth to a more ideal position.
  • Each aligner is worn for approximately 2 weeks, but no longer than 3 weeks.
  • Aligners will only work if there is 100% compliance from the wearer.
  • The aligner is worn 24/7 and only taken out to eat, brush and floss.

Advantages of Orthodontic Aligners:

  • Easier to care for
  • No dietary restrictions
  • Fewer appointments
  • Translucent system that’s less noticeable
  • Perfect for adults of all ages
